My colleague Alice and I entered the Young Competition at Golden Drum that year more out of curiosity. It was a huge surprise to find out we were shortlisted and an even bigger surprise to find out we won the gold.
But the best part is that we got to work on a very relevant brief, one which tackled ageism in an industry that venerates youth as the ultimate human value in a creative. Our goal: to fight this prejudice and to create awareness about the fact that older creatives are just as valuable and dedicated (or even more so) than the younger ones.
